1st Charles Reinke extended his run of first-place finishes to four with a 5-1 +565 record and a 481 per-game average. The six total games he played were a result of him being the "one" in two different two-on-one matches. The single loss on his scoresheet was a high-scoring 505-512 encounter with his brother Thomas Reinke - that losing score of 505 is just the eighth 500+ loss since the club started keeping track of game-by-game data in 2011. Charles had bingos of REDLEGS, VAMOOSES, and PINNATED in his losing effort, while Thomas got down TEABERRY, SWASTIKA, SEMIOVAL, and ENCRINAL#. Another match against the same opponent went better for Charles as he prevailed 532-395 and got down bingos of SURTOUT and TIMINGS. Charles had one more 500-point game up his sleeve which he reserved for Helen Flores. Bingos of PASTIME, CAFFEINS, and LANKIER propelled him to a comfortable 510-289 win.

2nd Richard Lauder disrupted the recent dominance of the weekly standings by players named "Reinke", finishing at 3-1 +232 and ending up with a spiffy per-game average of 412. He started off strong with a big win over Helen Flores, 459-269, thanks to his bingo finds of PROMISE and UNITERS. Another good game followed, 436-354 vs. Sara McLaughlin, however, the victory was marred by a phony MERITORS* (MORTISER and STORMIER are the words in those letters). Richard's signature win was a decisive takedown of the fearsome Thomas Reinke, 421-366. His bingos there were DANGLES and DARTLES. Sadly, his success against Reinkes didn't extend to the other twin, as he was felled by Charles Reinke, 332-427. That was despite Richard holding Charles to zero bingos while playing three himself: DATEABLE, SWEARERS, and LENTOIDS.

1st Charles Reinke won his third straight club session with a 3-1 +409 outing. All three of his victories saw him surmount the 500-point barrier, leading to an average per-game score of 490 for the evening. His single loss was delivered to him by none other than Mark Kenas, 393-538. Mark used his 3+ decades of bingo study to blitz Charles with bonus plays, getting down PREGAME, EYESHOT, GRUNTER, and QUINOAS, while Charles was left with a single bingo of INVADERS. Revenge was served in round four as Charles reversed that result and then some, beating Mark 516-324. In between those two games, Charles unleashed his own ample reserves of bingo knowledge upon club founder Richard Lauder, playing an astonishing five bingos (CAVEATS, GATEPOST, INTARSIA, LENIENT and EVULSION) en route to a 534-321 victory.

2nd Thomas Reinke turned in yet another solid performance with a 3-1 +199 record. While accustomed to playing more bingos than his opponents in most games, Thomas subverted that expectation by beating Helen Flores 436-360 despite getting outbingoed two to one. Thomas only had GALLEINS in that game, compared to Helen's ETOILES and CAROUSES. In a later match against Dennis Lloyd, Thomas unsubverted that expectation by playing three bingos (FETATIONS, BARTEND, RESISTOR) to Dennis' one (LUNGERS) in a 469-352 triumph. Thomas fell short of a perfect record when he was bested by Mark Kenas, 377-448, finding himself unable to withstand Mark's barrage of scoring plays which included RATLINS, SERVANTS, and WAIRUAS#.

1st Charles Reinke was top dog for the second straight week, finishing at 5-0 +396. He welcomed back the returning Mark Kenas with a pair of Collins-dictionary victories: the first one was relatively closely-contested at 441-407, but the second was a proper drubbing, 503-342. Charles had ATEMOYA, DOATING, ATTENDEE, and BETOILS# as his bingos across those two games, while Mark had MERONYM, POLICERS, and RATTEENS (fun note: MERONYM takes a Y for MERONYMY, as well as the S). In a game against Helen Flores, Charles was held well below his yearly average of 439, but nevertheless prevailed in a tightly-fought game, 399-363. Helen got a nice 103-point play of ENQUIRE (pairing nicely with a 101-point SQUIRTER in her previous game); Charles had ONBOARDS for a comparatively wimpy 72 points.

2nd Thomas Reinke went 4-1 +373, but despite that impressive-looking record, averaged a "lowly" 416 per game (comparing against his yearly average of 449). He started things off with a 410-357 win against Sara McLaughlin where both participants had one and exactly one bingo: FASTENED for Thomas, RUSTING for Sara. However, Thomas' hopes for an undefeated night were quashed early by Mark Kenas, who easily bested in him round two, 484-364. Thomas had the high-probability eight-letter words of TOENAILS and INSOLENT for his bingos, while Mark got a bit more creative with UNENVIED and XEROTIC (fun fact: Mark's XEROTIC is the fourth bingo played at our club since 2011 that starts with an X. The others are XEROXES, XEROSIS, and XEROSIS again). Revenge against Mark was achieved in the final round as Thomas came away with a 430-375 victory, thanks in part to crafty finds of ABOMASI and PHOSGENE.

3rd Richard Lauder went 3-2 -34, performing poorly against players with the last name "Reinke" but otherwise performing admirably against the rest of the field. In a two-on-one match in the second round, Richard overcame stacked odds to win both, 331-319 against Sara McLaughlin and 382-323 against Sue Goldstein. His bingos in those two games were PADRONE, ANNUALS, and PIRATED. After suffering a 305-439 loss against Thomas Reinke, Richard scored his third and final win against the latecoming Dennis Lloyd, 390-311, despite not having a bingo.
