1st Thomas Reinke cruised to an impressive 4-1 +511 performance. Three of his four wins were against Mark Kenas, none of them particularly close in score. The most lopsided victory for Thomas was in the final game, where he defeated Mark 589-308. Despite the enormous gulf in scores, the difference in bingos was "just" four to two: Thomas had CLAYING, DURANCES, SHEEPMEN, and DRAFTING for his bonus plays, while Mark deployed EIRENICS and ELASTINS for some much-needed fifty-point bonuses. Thomas' single loss was hand-delivered to him by none other than Dennis Lloyd, who won their contest comfortably, 430-375. Dennis got away with the invalid UNACTIVE*, but felt no guilt in doing this, especially as his plays of LINEAGES and OVERTAKE confirmed that he (usually) tries to play valid words. Thomas found a bingo of ARILLODE in his losing effort.

2nd Charles Reinke went 3-1 +397, completing a fully Reinke'd top two that has become all too familiar. His evening started off poorly, as he was held bingoless in a 320-377 loss to Helen Flores, who got down sizable bingos of SOAKERS and FANNIES. Things improved significantly after that point, as Charles scored above 500 points in all of his remaining games. His big win was against the beleaguered Mark Kenas, 508-344, thanks to finds of LENDERS, PEREONS, GARLICS, and REGAUGED. Richard Lauder hardly fared better, falling 360-504; Charles' TASKBAR for 118 points played a large role in his win.

3rd Richard Lauder topped a contingent of 2-2 players with his 2-2 -19 record. After a 396-367 win over Dennis Lloyd, losses to both Reinke twins left him in a sizable hole. However, Richard was able to dig himself (mostly) out of that hole by whomping Helen Flores in the final round, 483-259. Bingos of TONLETS and OUTREAD were enough to build a large lead, but a 96-point RESOJET slammed the door shut on Helen's winning chances.

We enjoyed the presence of newcomer Tara Kadium, and while she found herself on the losing end of the one game she played, we hope she returns!

1st Charles Reinke came in first place with his 4-2 +163 record, which, due to a quirk of the stats system's ranking algorithm, was "better" than Mark's 3-1 and Dennis' 2-0. His final record could very easily have been an even 3-3, but he pulled out a close round-one victory against Richard Lauder, 433-426. Richard fought bravely with bingos of OVERRUN and EASTERN, while Charles got down KARYOTIN (also spelled CARYOTIN) and NUGGETS. Later, Charles would face Richard again and this time he widened the margin of victory by a considerable amount, with a final score of 478-367. Richard's 95-point find of RAREFIES did much to stem the bleeding. Things were looking pretty good for Charles until the last round, where Thomas Reinke showed no mercy towards his own brother, and issued a decisive 505-433 victory thanks to bingos of NEONATE, AEROSAT, and the Wisconsiny CHEDDAR. Charles had MANTOES# (only valid in the international dictionary) and RESOWING.

2nd Mark Kenas faced off against a neverending stream of Reinkes, but emerged from the fracas relatively unscathed, going 3-1 +323 and averaging a sizable 472 points per game. He cruised to victory in round one against Charles Reinke, winning by a score of 504-351 and getting down three bingos in the process: FROLICS, DROWSILY, and a 108-point double-double BARRELED. Later in the evening he sniffed the 600-point line, but didn't quite reach it, with a crushing 588-372 triumph over Thomas Reinke. TOLZEYS#, CARTAGES, VOMITING, and WATERIER were the bingos played by the winning side. However, a perfect record was thwarted by Charles, who bested Mark in the final game, 456-345.

Dennis Lloyd went 2-0 +146. The site's algorithm doesn't think he deserves a blurb but this writer thinks otherwise. Dennis was remarkably consistent in his two games, beating Thomas Reinke 440-381 and Richard Lauder 441-354. His bingos between those two wins were DEARIES, FAIRNESS, RECRUITS, and word of the week FERRYMAN.

We also welcomed new player Matthew Carrick to the club and hope he joins us again!

1st Charles Reinke made some early-season headway in the club standings with his flawless (literally without flaws of any kind whatsoever) 5-0 +701 performance. He made quick work of his closest rival in last year's final standings, Thomas Reinke, winning their encounter by a lopsided score of 580 to 382. Thomas found OVERTAX for a nice 99 points, but Charles bingoed four times (DAILIES, ENDEMIAL, SURBASE, ROTENONE) to render Thomas' bingo moot. That 580 score was almost equalled in the final round when Charles score 575 point against Mark Kenas, who scored 365. Again, Charles outbingoed his opponent four to one: HOLIEST, ANOOPSIA, TZIGANE, and a 185-point triple-triple PREAMBLE were Charles' bonus plays, while Mark had CENSURED but nothing else.

2nd Bryan Benwitz went 3-1 +414, beating Thomas Reinke by ~230 spread points to snag second place. He got off to a fantastic start by defeating Renato Umali, who was playing in his first club game in over nine years, 527-299. Bingos of TUBBIER, POISONER, BONEHEAD, and URALITE served as a somewhat excessive "welcome back!" for the returning Renato. Bryan crested the 500-point mark again in round four when he vanquished Dennis Lloyd by a score of 505-236, propelled by three bingos: CARVERS, GURNETS, and CRUISERS. However, Bryan received a taste of his own bitter medicine when he found himself sitting across the table from the fearsome Thomas Reinke and was solidly defeated, 337-543.
